@spidercraze (Thank you! Treeheart actually does the best at RPing kits. It's the most incredible thing I'v ever witnessed. xD) --- "I could be your apprentice!" Vixen said proudly, puffing out her chest. Mercy gave a small nod, her eyes swirling thoughtfully. "It may come down to that," she said after a while. "I won't have Gerald take them away. If he wants to leave them here, in the barn, all together to be mousers like Denver and I... then we won't have a problem. If he tries to take them away?" the pretty ginger she-cat sighed and shook her head. "I will send them to the Manor before I let them be divided." "We're gonna be Warriors?" Soot asked, her eyes wide. "Perhaps," Denver replied, nosing his daughter gently. "We'll see." Vixen puffed out in excitement, looking hilariously like a giant ball of orange fuzz. She bounced over to Ravenfeather and settled herself between the molly and Rubblefall and began to eagerly eat the mouse. "Are you guys mates?" she asked after a moment, licking the morsels from her whiskers. "You seem like it." Rubblefall nearly choked on his bite of mouse and coughed, sputtering into his paw. "We're only friends, Vixen." "Mkay. You'd be cuter together though," she replied thoughtfully, taking another huge mouthful. Denver purred, unable to hide his amusement as the younger tom flushed ferociously under-pelt. Rubblefall chuckled, trying to make eye contact with Ravenfeather so it wouldn't be awkward. He shrugged his shoulders. "Kits."

Chris
(Literally all of y'all here are so talented in general 🥺🥺- Also I'm hoLLERIng, not Vixen being a cute little matchmaker 😂<3)
The soft giggle that escaped Raven couldn't be helped as she looked down upon the beaming she-kit. ❝ You're well on your way to being an excellent one at that, any Warrior would call themselves lucky to train you. ❞ Her paw gestures and points in the air, captivated by how excitable Vixen was.
The molly's tail flicked and curled upward against her back, an excited tint taking to those yellowish green eyes. ❝ That'd be perfect! ❞ She exclaimed softly. ❝ They'd still all be able to visit you. ❞ There's a hopeful tone in her voice as she glances to the kit's mother, offering Mercy the smallest of smiles. Frankly, it'd be better if the whole litter could stay, but worst case scenario, living under the watchful eye of Inkclan not so far from their birth home, able to visit their loving doting mother was far better than the kindle being separated. ❝ I'm sure you'd all make great Warriors. ❞
She's fixated upon the mouse once more, tongue hungrily lapping her lips once, twice, bending low to take in the sweet aroma that called to her gurgling stomach, Until-
❛Are you guys mates? - You seem like it❜
-that; It had Raven frozen, bent over and jaws parted, the prey now long forgotten as those lime hues glanced to the curious kit between the tom in question and herself.
She blinks once, twice, thrice, ever so slowly sitting upright, those eyes remained on Vixen dubiously. Her skin burning bashfully beneath that dark pelt. ❝ ...What makes you think that? ❞ She finally asks after an awkward bout of silence, yet those eyes found themselves landing upon Rubble, only responding to his shrug with an awkward confused head wobble.

Ken [@spidercraze] (Just wait until I get Zinni back in the clan. She has a southern accent (nobody knows where it came from) and she's just a big drama queen. You want to talk about HOLLERING. xD "It was scandalous, Raven, simply scandalous!") "I dunno. Just seems like it." Rubblefall chuckled a bit at Vixen's reply. "Well that isn't a very good answer!" "It's the way you look at her when she isn't looking at you." Rubblefall's smile melted and his mouth fell open. He snapped his jaw shut and pushed to his paws, shaking hay from his fur. "W-Well, it's been a lovely visit, Mercy. I'm glad to see you're out of the vet's office, Denver, but we probably should be going. Paintedstar's been in a foul mood as of late and I..." "You're leaving already!" Poor Cherry looked heartbroken as she jumped to her paws. "But you just got here!" "Warriors are very busy, Cherry," Denver told his daughter with a soft lick between the ears. "I'm sure they have patrols to do or hunts to take." "Take some of our mice back for the clan!" Vixen boomed. "You can tell them that we caught them! So they know we'll help if we get to join!" "By all means, please do take whatever you like. For ever mouse we kill, there's three more to catch," Mercy purred softly, standing to nuzzle both the clan cats. "I'm sorry for Vixen. She's honest to a fault that one," she whispered to the two Warriors but Rubblefall just shook his head. "Ah. Kits will be kits. Her honesty is noble. I hope she doesn't lose it with age."

Chris ( Goldenstar ) (GOODNEES I love Zinni already 😭 Her & Raven are gonna have so much to gossip about) Suddenly the molly is doubled forward with shaking shoulders, chest rising and falling rapidly with every bout of laughter that escaped her shuddering maw. ❝ He's just jealous because I'm beautiful~ ❞ Raven teased once she managed to catch her breath, her paw gently ruffling the fur atop Vixen's head. In her friend's lead, she shifted her weight to stand, gently using her teeth to pull away any bit of hay sticking to her black and ginger pelt, licking the clean spots flat down. ❝ It's been a pleasure, we'll definitely have to visit again soon. ❞ Maw forms into a gentle toothy grin, scanning the spread of parents and kits, before finally landing upon Mercy, gleefully extending her neck to return her affections. ❝ Thank you, it still means a lot. ❞ The she-cat shrugged dubiously at the two. ❝ She's honest with a lot of heart, gotta give her credit. Most honest cats are just rude, she's a delight. ❞ She pauses for a moment, turning on her paws, casting the litter another glance, their tiny round faces sparking a warmth within her chest. ❝ You five go easy on your mom and dad, next time I see you we'll have to play Inkclan and foxes. ❞ Raven finishes with a wink, that maw played into a devious smile.

As the family wished the Warriors farewell, Rubblefall did in fact take two mice. He tied their tails together and tossed them over his neck, leaving them to hang on either side of his shoulders as they walked back toward the Manor. The birds were singing louder and the sunning was radiating warm waves of heat. A cool breeze blew and it ruffled the Royal Inkers fur and he smiled, purring contently as he curled his tail and flicked Ravenfeather on the back.
"I told you getting out of the house would be just what you needed," he said warmly, giving the black and orange molly's hip a little bump with his own. "Those kits are something, aren't they? That little Vixen really seems to like you. I'd hate for them to have to leave their parents... but damn, she'd make a good Warrior."

Chris [Goldenstar ]
Ravenfeather picked one from the base of it's tail, letting the prey fall limp from her mouth as they shared their goodbye with the family, trodding back down that familiar path to camp. Her shoulders feeling much lighter from their burden before leaving the Manor. The walk home is far for more pleasant for the Molly; Her mood lifted, the sun cascading down on their backs with a gentle breeze keeping her flank from becoming unbearably warm. The tufts of fluff surrounding her tail tousled under the soft gusts of wind. ❝ Yeah, you were right. ❞ Raven replied between gritted teeth, turning her head to her friend sounding somewhat defeated. Mouth curling around her stiff jaw into a tiny smile. Her paws became unsteady with the gentle collision, causing the molly to exhale a warm chuckle. ❝ Amazingly she had a lot more personality than I was expecting, they certainly made me less nervous about being an aunt. ❞ Raven admitted, her voice slightly muffled. ❝ I at least hope it won't have to come to that till they're older, hopefully they still have that bushytailed energy. ❞ There's a bounce to her step as they continued to pad along, enjoying the sweet bird songs echoing through the rustling trees. ❝ And that Vixen really had you for a moment, ❞ The molly teased the tom beside her, that black and ginger tail playfully tapping the side of his flank.

Ken @spidercraze For a moment, Rubblefall seemed divided on what he wanted to say. Then the tom turned his dark blue gaze to her and tired his head. "I suppose she did," he said thoughtfully before allowing a moment of silence to stretch between them. "But then again, I did tell Mercy that I appreciated her honesty. And you havent ever seen the way I look at you when you're not paying attention." He offered her a small smile and returned the flick against her flank with his tail. He didn't wait for her to reply, instead he headed off back on the trail, keeping his pace slow so she could keep up. Not too far along the way, a pair of large ears poked up over the grass and there was a faint, muffled sound of struggle. "Would you just... come... on!" There was a tug and a snap and a long-legged molly went spilling backward, head over tail. It was Islandfawn- Inkclan's senior medicine cat. She meowed in victory, a root hanging from her jaws. She then noticed that the Warriors were there and her eyes glowed warmly with greeting. "Nice catch!" She commented. "Havenlight will be pleased with those mice!" "We didn't catch them," Rubblefall purred. "This lot met their demise at the claws of Mercy's kits." He purred fondly. "Do you want some help with that root? You seem to have your paws full!"

(I'm going to say that the time skip applies here as well.) The two padded along in silence until they reached the fence that held the best view for the horses. Turquoiseheart leaped up the post and settled there, staring out as she watched a brown and black colt buck his hooves wildly. She let the silence linger between them for a long time before deciding to speak. "We've been friends a long time, haven't we Tigerlash...?" she said at last, not taking her eyes off the colt. "I could... I could trust you with a secret, couldn't I?..." ~ "I..." "What are you doing over here?" the growl made Snowphoenix jump. She whirled around, coming face to face with a white tom with red and orange Inking. Paintedstar. "Shouldn't you be on patrol or out at least doing something useful?" "I can't visit with my Elders?" Snowphoenix challenged lightly, flicking an ear. "Tanglereed and I were merely discussing the Bonds, that's all. We miss our fellow Inkers. We can't wait to have them home." "I think we all want them home," Paintedstar mused, his expression less harsh but his eyes were still glittering with some type of emotion Snow couldn't place. But it made her uneasy. "Tanglereed, how are you feeling by the way? Better?" Without waiting for the old tom to reply, he flicked his tail and turned on his paws. "Why don't you go out with Yellowwasp- the two of you. Get some fresh air. Might do you both well." And the he disappeared inside the leader's den. Snowphoenix recoiled. " Yellowwasp? Honestly, I'd rather spend my day picking ticks out of Graysplash's fur rather than be around that arrogant bundle of needles!" she spats, shaking her pelt. She glanced warily over at her companion. "Up for a walk, I suppose?..." (Hey Chris I saw you updated the front page but I think you forgot some things. It says the “late Rubblefall” on one of his littermates bios and I don't know if that's a plan for the future or just a typo. Also, Havenlight shoulder be in the warriors den… with all three of her kits because they have been “kits” for like seasons now but i didn't know if you saw that or not) Tigerlash leaped up with a bit less agility to the top of the fence beside the smaller cat, stretching out his tail with a tad bit of desperation to balance himself as she began to speak. “Friends? That’s an understatement, little gem,” the tabby teased lightly with a grin before shuffling to a more comfortable position. “A secret is safe with me as long as it does not endanger the clan.” … As the old leader stalked away, Tanglereed sighed and shook his head. “I know cats of your age remember how he was when he first became leader, but for us old heads.. This isn't entirely out of the blue. He was a rash apprentice and an even hotter-headed warrior- you think Redinferno is a mess!” At the white warrior’s jab at her clanmate, the elder let out a rusty, booming laugh as he limped towards the exit. “Now, now, Yellowwasp is simply a dedicated warrior. There is no need to focus on her less than social qualities. Though I dont think it would be wise to ask her to come on a stroll with a frail boned elder at such high tensions, eh?”

Chris [ Goldenstar ] That lime gaze met Rubblefall's thoughtfully for a moment, the corners of her mouth turned upright into a tender smile. Paws lightly thumping against the ground as she trailed shortly behind. Their travel eventually came to a short pause, muffled rustling and murmurs halted the fluffy molly. Her ears perked and paw frozen in the air still awaiting to take it's next step. "Islandfawn?!" Raven exclaimed as the elder molly came tumbling into view; Her own voice muffled around the mouse tail still gritted between her pearly teeth. Gently she set the prey down by her paws, giving her jaws a much needed break. ❝ If you wouldn't mind carrying this mouse instead, I'm sure Rubblefall and I would be able to carry that back for you. ❞ Raven offered in unison to her friend, her tail flickering hopefully, eyes glancing down to the prey she had set down. It wasn't heavy at all, only thing was it'd be awkward to hold, talk and carry a root all at once, and frankly she'd rather give their senior Medicine cat a break from that awkward shaped root.

Abe Turquoisegem was quiet for a while, even though she had Tigerlash's vow to keep her secret. Whatever it was. She stared off, still lost in her thoughts as the colt played in the field. After a long stretch of silence, the she-cat turned her beautiful gaze to her closest friend and she tilted her head. "A few moons ago, I witnessed something... I... I was coming back from one of my visits to see one of the two-legs. I know you know about it. The whole clan does and nobody seems to mind too much... but anyway, I had just finished my rounds... I was by the old well..." she pinned her ears back, her pupils widening with fear. She looked around, as if afraid at anytime someone would come rushing over to knock her off the post. "I heard Falconswoop and Paintedstar fighting. Well- not so much fighting. Falconswoop was winning..." she lashed her tail then lowered her voice. "I heard Paintedstar confess... that it wasn't a rogue that attacked Joystar and took one of her lives. He killed her in a rage when he found out Joystar's youngest litter were sired by Falconswoop- yes, that rumor is true..." she blinked hard, her heart hammering. "I ran back to camp as fast as I could and told no one. Well, just the other day, I overheard some of the other Warriors talking about a rebellion... because they know Paintedstar is unstable. Tigerlash... I fear that the Breeding Bonds will be a tipping point. If Paintedstar doesn't react properly to the Bonds he wanted... the whole clan may be divided. And the leader of the group against Paintedstar..." she looked deep into her friend's eyes, pleading for him to understand the urgency in just the name. "It's Yellowwasp." --- Ken
"Oh don't you go treating me like an Elder!" Islandfawn puffed out her chest and got to her paws. She laid some of the root she had gathered into a burlap sack- a glorious find that one of the apprentices had brought to her- and she pulled the string tight and tossed it over her neck and shoulder. "All because Scarletlily is depressed and Hazelpaw is gone to the Valley doesn't make me useless. I took care of this clan for moons before either of them were born and I'll carry on for many moons more. Just fine." She tipped her tail against Ravenfeather's shoulder but her molten hazel eyes showed gratitude. It was nice to be cared for. The three cats began to pad back to camp, shoulder to shoulder. "How were Mercy's kits? How many?" "Five!" Rubblefall purred. "There were six- Mercy said- but one of them died." "Oh, stars bless her." "But the five she has are absolutely brilliant, Islandfawn. There's Cherry, Soot, Ruby, Tiger, and little Vixen. Vixen is Ravenfeather's favorite." "Ravenfeather? Favoring a kit? I don't believe it!" the white and tawny she-cat purred playfully as she slipped through the hole in the door to the Manor and headed straight across for her den. Rubblefall let out a small laugh as he followed suit, leaving one of the mice for the senior Medicine Cat. "Oh, look at the mess in here..." Islandfawn fretted, using her tail to sweep away some dust and dirty moss from the quarters. "Poor Scarletlily is so sad over Monarchdream going to Cloudclan- I haven't seen her for weeks..." she shook her head, a note of sadness in her raspy voice. "I've found myself rather lonely without her..." "We can help you for the day if you'd like us to, Islandfawn. The mice the kits gave to us is more than enough to be our contribution." "Do you mean it?" her brown eyes turned to them thankfully. "I hate to ask- and it isn't that I can't do it myself..." "Better with company," Rubblefall purred, blinking kindly to the old molly. "I'll drop off the mice and come right back!"

[Goldenstar ] Raven scoffed playfully. ❝ Well my mother 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 me to respect my Medicine cat, 𝘣𝘶𝘶𝘵 if you ever feel that your legs are too weak, give me a holler. ❞ She finished with a wink, Albeit her tone joking, she'd come running if Islandfawn was in need. The she-cat bends back down to take the deceased mouse by the tail once more, the appendage gritted firmly between her jaws. Her skin burned slightly beneath that thick black and ginger pelt as they neared the Manor entrance. ❝ She reminded me of Zinni....just a tad. ❞ Came her muffled response, thick tail lashing sanguinely in unison. Passing through the rugged opening of the Manor's door, Raven was careful not to snag her pelt on the edges, trodding right on inside after her companions, coming to set the rodent down, yawning her maw a few times to stretch out the tensed muscles. Ravenfeather tenses at the elder molly's words, a solemn tint taking to her lime hues as she crossed the distance, timidly nuzzling Islandfawn. It appears it's not just Rubblefall and herself suffering from their loved ones far from home. ❝ You're not alone, ❞ Her voice is small, gentle, on that thin line of wavering. ❝ I'll stay back with Islandfawn, ❞ She glanced to the Medicine cat, maw tilted in the slightest of smiles before that lime gaze landed upon Rubblefall once more. ❝ Get a head start on.... ❞ Light green optics scanned the den, her gaze all but dubious. ❝ Cleaning. You wouldn't mind if I dusted a bit, would you Islandfawn? ❞

It was unknown, unacknowledged how long the silence between the two cats stretched. If anyone had been walking by, they would think the two were frozen in time of something except for the five stages of grief that seemed to be going on Tigerlash's visage.
"I promised you I'd keep this a secret," Tigerlash finally replied, his voice almost thunderous in how deep and tired it sounded. He looked down at his paws, unbelief, fury and fear all mixing up inside of him as he tried to make sense of where to go after hearing what Turquoisegem had to say. "I promised an as your clanmate, your denmate, and your longest friend... I will keep it. But Gem... Gem how long were you going to stay silent about this? I know that Paintedstar is bad- is simply terrible really, but... to form a coup? Isnt that against the warrior code? And Yellowwasp... she may have been our peer but she has never been a great clanmate." He looked over his shoulder into the tall grass and trees that hid the Manor some way off. "I guess the clan must really hate him if they are willing to follow her," When she has only one goal in mind herself. We cant go from tyrant to tyrant now, can we?

Ken [@spidercraze] "Oh, no, not at all! Dust away!..." --- When the sun began to dip behind the rolls of grassy hills, the three cats settled down together to share a rabbit. Ravenfeather and Gravelhail had helped Islandfawn for hours in her den- cleaning, organizing, sorting leaves and gathering herbs. Now all three of them had sore paw pads and tired eyes. Islandfawn was rasping her tongue over her lips when she stifled a yawn. "Honestly, thank you both so much for all of your help. I couldn't have got this place in shape without you," she purred, giving them both a thankful lick. "I say you've earned your rest for the day. Why don't you head off to the Warrior's Den for some sleep, hm?" "Oh, if you're sure..." Gravelhail's jaws parted in a yawn. "I think sleep sounds quite nice..." (I have one more thing I want to line up with our lovebirds here before we reset the thread here. Is there anyone else you want to RP with? I have plenty of babes open. <3) --- Abe "I was... going to talk to Joystar about it first," Turquoisegem murmured, looking down at her paws. Suddenly the Warrior seemed very small, much like a scared kitten and less like a seasoned, grown member of Inkclan. "But every-time I get close to her, or that anyone gets close to her alone, I feel like Paintedstar is always watching. I don't know what he is expecting to happen or what he has in his head that she's plotting but he has his eyes on the wrong enemy..." she looked away. "I tried to talk to Paintedstar... about just casual things to see how his mindset was... he got so defensive over me asking about border patrols. Border patrols, Tiger! How can this clan prepare for a mutiny if he has his claws sunk into every corner and crevice of the clan?..." she shook her pelt then turned her brilliant gaze back to her friend. "No matter what happens- promise me that we stay together. I..." she dropped her voice. "I can't do it without you, Tigerlash... I feel so alone in this world if not for you. It's why I wanted to tell you... I knew you'd help me carry this secret."

The despair in her voice made Tigerlash wince; Turquoisegem was among the more emotionally intelligent members of their generation and so if she was seeing no way out of a dilemna like this... the very thought made Tigerlash horrified. Something needed to be done... but there was no way of really fending this off without this secret being told.
"I'll help you, Gem, you know that," he rumbled, pressing a scratchy but comforting muzzle on the warrior's head. "I can try to talk to Joystar. it shouldnt be too hard to get around her and away from Paintedstar these days..."
(So will Joystar be the sole leader once Painted kinda just...dies?)

Chris { Goldenstar } By the time they had the den in order, Raven was left with that familiar exhausted ache rattling her muscles. Dust sparsely coated her pelt, specifically clustering at the ends of her tail. Upper lids hung low over tired lime hues. ❝ No problem, ❞ She managed to squeeze out before her jaws parted out of instinct to yawn. Those whiskers twitching around her maw in suit. Her share of rabbit only added onto that blissful tiredness; Tuckered limbs and a full stomach always resulted in 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 night's sleep. ❝ I feel like I could sleep for the next three moons. ❞ There's the slightest hint of a giggle coating her exhausted voice, her thick tail gently tapping Rubblefall's shoulder. ❝ And Islandfawn, if you'd 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 help anytime soon, even for the company, I'll always be happy to. ❞ (Gosh I'm already excited; As for other lovely kitties I'd love to write with any cats you're itching to use! I only have 2 other babes that are ready to write/registered, and they're polar opposites, Nightshade's chaos and Melloweyes is a total sweetheart)

@spidercraze
As Rubblefall and Raven headed back toward the Warrior's Den for sleep, they were being passed by Yellowwasp. The bad-tempered yellow and black she-cat gave them both a hard glance as she made her way to the Medicine Cat Den. "I wonder what's prickling her pelt..." he murmured, looking over his shoulder in time to see Yellowwasp and Islandfawn padding from the Manor side by side. Something uneasy settled in his chest as he and Raven laid down, side by side. Rubblefall closed his eyes, unable to rid his mind of the look of aggression on Yellowwasp's face. Surely it was nothing- she always looked like that... --- "Have any of you seen Islandfawn?" the worried sound came from Yarrowpaw, Joystar's youngest son. He was talking directly to Racooncoat- who shook his head. "No, I haven't since last night. I know Rubblefall and Ravenfeather were with her all night cleaning the den. Why don't you ask them?" "But they're sleeping!" "I'm awake," Rubblefall groaned, lifting his head. "What's up?" ~ (Go ahead and pick one of your other kitties and make a starter for them. I'll type up a response. --- Abe (No, once Paintedstar is... no longer in Inkclan... Lacewing will become leader if Gryffin becomes active again. There will always be two leaders in Inkclan. It's how they work.) (Gonna do a tiny time hop here.) On the next morning patrol, Turquoisegem and Tigerlash were walking along the road-side border, careful to keep their distance in case any cars rolled by. Something had Q on edge and she kept pressing close to Tigerlash for comfort- as she jumped at every sound and walked as if her paws were treading glass. Suddenly, up by the street sign that ended Inkclan territory, a car stopped and a human got out. "Oh, the poor thing!" Turquoisegem perked her ears, picking up on the two-leg dialogue she had studied so intensely for so long. She watched as a woman went back to her car, grabbed something out of it, and bent down. She moved something out of the middle of the road to the side and said something Q recognized as a prayer. Then the lady got back into the driver's side of her car and headed on down the road. The smell of death hit the two in the face and Turquoisegem froze. Cat scent washed over her- familiar- and rich. "No... Oh no!" eyes wide in terror, the she-cat raced forward and burst out into the street. The instant her eyes laid upon the thing the woman had moved, Turquoisegem crumbled onto the ground and let out a wail of anguish. In the towel the woman had wrapped her in, her body still and stiff, Islandfawn lay crushed upon the dusty road- cobwebs on her paws from where she'd been harvesting, her eyes still open and glossy. Inkclan's eldest Medicine Cat was dead.

"Islandfawn?... are you too tired for a walk?" Yellowwasp's voice was light but there was an edge of wariness in it that made the Medicine cat's large ears perk up. She saw the set look on the Warrior's face and nodded, pushing to her tired paws.
"Of course! What's troubling you?"
As the two slipped outside the Manor, their pelts brushed. In the days since Yellowwasp had found out she was expecting, she has been by regularly to check with Islandfawn. She had insisted to not halting her Warrior duties and she had pleaded for Islandfawn's word that she wouldn't tell the leaders. Islandfawn herself had never dared to ask but she had a feeling that Yellowwasp had mated with a tom not of Inkclan blood and was ashamed and afraid. There was nothing wrong with fear.
As the moon set high in the sky, crickets began singing in the tall grass. The healer again felt the need to probe the prickly Warrior's mind.
"What's troubling you? We usually walk at dawn."
"I'm worried about the kits," Yellowwasp said at last as they headed along the seldom used dirt road. "I'm uneasy and I can feel them sense it. They're restless inside me. I know there is little to do to treat it."
"It is normal for a mother to worry about her kits. Especially her first litter," Islandfawn told her reassuringly. Yellowwasp paused, heading off the way they were walking to veer toward a puddle a few tail-lengths away from the street sign. She leaned down to drink and Islandfawn followed her, lapping at the water's surface.
"My kits are special though, Islandfawn," she said- her tone suddenly chilling. Her yellow gaze had darkened and the Medicine Cat began to feel uneasy. "They're sparks to ignite the fire of a revolution." All at once, Islandfawn started sputtering. She felt her heart racing and her vision grew fuzzy. She looked down at the puddle and saw pawfuls of death berries at the bottom of it. Gasping, she recoiled, trying to trek back toward the mansion. But Yellowwasp blocked her and began to push the old molly toward the road.
"Why... why... poison the... water?..." she spat, feeling her legs growing weak. "Y-you drank too!"
"Actually no I didn't. I just leaned down toward the water. You are the one who drank it. I figured you would."
Islandfawn took a step back and stumbled, trying desperately to stay on her paws. Yellowwasp advanced on her, her eyes growing wilder and more feral with every step.
"My kits are the beginning of a new era. An era for Goldenclan and Inkclan where we will be ruled by power and capability and the strongest ones among us will survive. I'm sorry, Islandfawn, but you won't be part of the revolution. You're old and sick and you're the only cat who knows I'm pregnant. Until I make my move, it has to stay that way. And I can't take any chances..." Yellowwasp's eyes flashed as light came beaming toward them. She jumped out of the way just as a giant truck came barreling down the road. Islandfawn, so sick from the poisoned water, was helpless.
She was struck before she ever had time to turn her head. The pain seared through her like fury then was gone. She laid, unmoving and numb, in the middle of the dusty street. Her eyes gazed out at nothing as the wind rippled her fur. The last thing she saw was the tip of Yellowwasp's tail disappearing into the tall grass.
With a final sigh, the breath left her body and Islandfawn's flanks grew still.

(Why did she do such a thing?! Poor Islandfawn...) (Because Islandfawn is 'weak' in her opinion and she's the only one (besides Sweetfern) who knows that Yellowwasp is pregnant and she can't have anyone knowing yet. She certainly didn't have to but it isn't in her nature to be merciful.)

(This is from the Goldenclan page but I'm gonna drop it here too...) --- Blood Painted CloudsAs the moon climbed high in the sky, a single Warrior sat with his back to the railroad tracks that lead to Golden Park. He scanned the shadows, venom green eyes trying to find... something. The wind behind him shifted and a scent, sweet but not entirely familiar encased his senses. He whopped around, coming face to face with tattered ears and acidic yellow eyes. Something cold and calculative swirled in those mustard hues and a sickly purr rumbled in her throat. She stepped forward, lifted a paw to his cheek, cupped it- the tip of her claws pricking his skin- and she gripped his chin. She kissed his mouth and the Warrior closed his eyes, letting her drown his senses. The next instant, he was on his back and her sharp fangs were around his throat.
"Don't let your guard down all because I'm pretty. I'll still kill you, Sandstrike."
"You wouldn't," the Goldenclan Warrior snarled, leaping up. He pinned the she-cat to the asphalt by her shoulders, his jaws clamped around her neck now. He heard her gasp from surprise and force and he retracted his bite, lifting his head. His green eyes flashed with danger. "Remember I can kill you too, Yellowwasp."
"You wouldn't," she purred in a velvet voice, blood pricked on her throat from where his fangs had met the tender flesh. She leaned up and licked his cheek and Sandstrike chuckled. He stepped to the side and helped her up. The pretty, yellow-and-black Inked she-cat shook her pelt and began to circle him, her tail stroking his flanks. "You look well... leaf-fall hasn't bothered the Park much."
"Nor the Manor." He had noticed that Yellowwasp's form was silky, smooth, with lean cut muscle. She wasn't going hungry.
"Islandfawn insists that I eat well." She paused, holding his gaze. "I must... for the kits."
Sandstrike's jaw dropped and he stepped closer to her. The yellow and gray-marked tom pressed his nose into her flank and inhaled, the soft scent of milk swirling in his lungs. "Mine?"
"Of course they are. Do you think me unfaithful?"
"Of course not. You'd never betray me." He rasped his tongue over her ear. "This was unplanned... we must move quickly now. I want it to happen before the kits are born. You shouldn't battle as a Queen."
"Nobody knows I'm a Queen except for Islandfawn... and she's soon to take it to her grave. We've come too far to be interrupted now." She looked away, flicking her tail thoughtfully. "If the Manor sees me pregnant, they'll soon start whispering of who the sire is. They know I'd never breed with a rogue, loner, or kitty-pet. So the father would need to be clan born. There aren't many toms in Inkclan... they'll figure it out on their own and I don't need anything to break fealty. Especially so close to success." Her sharp yellow gaze suddenly switched back to him. "Did you talk to the usurper?"
"Yes," Sandstrike replied, his heart racing. "The Broken Brotherhood has agreed to our alliance."
"Good." She licked his ear. "We can trust him?"
"Oriole may be mad but he's no fool," the Goldenclan tom replied. "He wants safety and for his children. This leafbare will be cold and he wants to keep his family safe. He'll do anything to protect his children." Sandstrike's pupils narrowed into something damn near deadly. "As will I."
"I know. I was wise to choose you..." Yellowwasp gave him an aggressive nuzzle then turned on her paws, beginning to head back through the shadows toward the town... and toward Ink Manor which lay outside. "Begin the infiltration. The meeting is in a few days... by then everything should be in motion. Be sure you're ready for the takeover." She stopped and glanced over her shoulder. "I don't know what Inkclan blood runs through your veins, Sandstrike... but it shows. Paint runs thick... we'll have answers for you one day. You'll see."
He nodded, watching his beloved go with thoughtful eyes. It had been many moons ago now when Yellowwasp sought him out after a meeting- fascinated by his unusual markings. She told him they looked almost Ink-like. At the time, Sandstrike hadn't believed it. But the more time had gone on, the more he had pieced together parts of his past. His mother, Yellowpetal, who had been an adoring and gentle creature, had never spoken of their father and she always seemed uncomfortable at the thought. Yellowpetal had died mysteriously when they had just been made Warriors- found asleep outside of camp. Yellowwasp had told him that she believed their father was a Inkclan cat. Sandstrike had always found it silly... but now...
Sandstrike watched Yellowwasp until she disappeared over the hillside. He flicked an ear and turned on his paws, heading back across the railroad tracks toward the sleeping Golden Park. Unaware to the young Warrior, something stirred in the bushes. Outstepped a precious creature, a silky-furred lilac-and-silver molly with violet patches. Her blue eyes were hazy as she looked over the hill to where Yellowwasp disappeared. Then she took off after the Goldenclan Warrior, stumbling sideways on uneasy paws.
"Sandy!" the call froze Sandstrike in his tracks. He looked over his shoulder to see his sister, Sweetfern, struggling to keep up with him. "Sandy, Sandy wait fo' me!"
"Sweetie!" Sandstrike's voice took on a gentle tone as he doubled back and raced to his litter-mate's side. He caught her as she nearly fell and he rasped his tongue over her ear. "Sweetfern, what are you doing out of the Elder's Den so late?! Does Mothfur know you're here? Did she go walking with you?" Genuine concern laced his tone as he feverishly examined his sister.
"I saw you leave camp. I wanted to follow!" the she-cat puffed out her chest proudly and lifted her head, laughing like an apprentice. "You didn't have any clue I was there, huh?! I stalked ya so good! I even didn't stumble!"
A pang of pride and adoration entered Sandstrike's eyes for his soft, detached sister and he nodded eagerly. "Yeah, you did really good Sweets. I had no clue you were there..." he flicked back an ear. "How far did you follow me?"
"To the tracks," she looked over her shoulder, back the way they'd came. "Who was that molly?"
He froze. "Who?"
"The yellow she-cat! The one you were fighting."
"Oh her? Just a kitty-pet. I chased her off though."
"Wow! You're so brave." Love and admiration entered Sweetfern's unfocused eyes and she pressed her face lovingly against her brother's cheek. "I know you'll keep us safe, Sandy."
"I'll always keep you safe. It's my job. I'm your brother." He told her, twining their tails. Sandstrike let Sweetfern lean on him as they headed back toward camp. "But just between you and me- let's keep the kitty-pet a secret, okay? I don't want to upset the clan when they're so worried about the Brotherhood. It was nothing to worry about. Okay?"
"A secret? I can keep a secret!"
"Okay!" Sandstrike lowered his voice into a whisper and hunkered down low to the ground. He looked around, as if making sure nobody else could hear them, and he looked back at his sister, wonder in his eyes. "Sweetfern, you must not tell anyone about the yellow kitty-pet okay? We don't want to upset the clan. It's a Sandy and Sweetie secret. Okay?" he offered her his pinky claw and Sweetfern met his eyes, her gaze serious as if this was a vow of life and death. She nodded and hooked her claw with his.
"Sweetie and Sandy secret! No telling. Nope!"
"No telling," Sandstrike repeated, kissing his sister's forehead. "Come on now, let's get you back to the Elder's Den. I'm sure Mothfur will be missing you."
"Okay." As they walked, Sweetfern leaned her head on her brother's shoulder. "I love you, Sandy. You're the best brother in the whole world."
"I love you too, Sweets." As they re-entered camp, Sandstrike stole a glance up at the sky. He did a double take, his heart dropping into his paws. As the moon glittered silver and white against the stars, he saw a single crimson-red cloud drift across its cratered surface. He looked away, watching as Sweetfern began to pad up the iron stairs that lead to camp. He glanced up at the sky again but the cloud was gone. His heart racing in his chest and an odd feeling creeping up his spine, Sandstrike headed up after his sister. Yellowwasp's words echoed in his head.
Paint runs thick...
But blood runs thicker.

(Popping in to say so sorry for lack of activity! Been sick for a while but I should be getting back to writing here soon!)

(Just realized you actually replied weeks ago oh my)
Tigerlash stilled beside Turquoisegem, unable to fathom any sort of movement as the two clanmates stared in unmasked horror at the body crumpled beneath the Twoleg blanket. For a moment, disbelief and shock ran freely in his mind- how could this have happened? Was she sick? Islandfawn was the most skilled cat in the clan for her healing gifts and it was unlikely she would have endangered her own health this way. Yet seeing her here...
Doing his best to push away the creeping grief that was inching up his throat the dark tabby stiffly lowered his muzzle to the sour stench of the medicine cat's corpse, sniffing her broken back bones, crushed legs and wide, open face, frozen in shock. "It's been at least since dawn," he growled, hoping he sounded as sure as Falconswoop and not a scared apprentice. He sent a swift look at Turquoisegem beside him, questions he was desperate to divulge in yet knowing how dangerous it was now to speak about anything now in InkClan, he just nodded and looked back down at the fallen medicine cat. It was hard, so so hard to even accept the reality of her being gone even as Tigerlash gazed dully at her broke body for what was only heartbeats but felt like seasons. Memories all came rushing at once about the old but flexible, strict but generous healer... so fast he could hardly hold down one. All his life she was a constant and her being gone was less like the loss of a dear clanmate and more like the Manor itself being swept away. "Fly high and rest easy, Islandfawn. May you find peace and happy hunting in StarClan and may you watch over us in death as you did in life." The words felt like thorns in his throat- it felt as if he was dying- but the warrior willed his tears away and gently nudged his best friend as the two stood over Islandfawn's body. "It's time we take her home, right? The clan is already wondering where she could be."

"Y-Yes... Yes, we have to t-take her home..." Her voice trembling, Turquoisegem pushed to her paws. Her eyes dull with grief, she grabbed the she-cat by her scruff- only to find it was hardened against her body and wouldn't give. Letting out a groan of agony, Turquoisegem snatched one side of the towel and waited for Tigerlash to grab the other. Once they had opposite sides, they used the towel to cradle the long-legged she-cat's body. Then they turned along the dusty road and headed off back toward the Manor. --- Inkclan's camp exploded with chaos as the two Warriors entered the abandoned house- Islandfawn's body stiff in the towel she was wrapped in. They laid her down before the gasping and yowling crowd and Q pressed against Tigerlash's side, longing to be absorbed into his shadow so that the very fragments of his soul could comfort her. Paintedstar burst from the leader's den and nudged his way through the crowd while Joystar lowered her head by the former healer's side. "May you find good hunting in Starclan..." she was finishing as the red and yellow tom stopped by her side. Joystar's blue eyes met the other leader's hard stare and she looked away. "Turquoisegem and Tigerlash found her by the end of the street. She was hit by a car. She's cold... she's been dead for some time." "Islandfawn would never have strayed into the street. She only went herb collecting in the daylight..." Paintedstar shook his head, his eyes dull with emotion as he pressed his nose to her stiff fur. "It's my fault." The voice came shakily and heads turned to lay eyes on Yellowwasp, the bad-tempered she-cat staring down at her paws. She looked absolutely crestfallen. "I had something on my mind and asked Islandfawn to walk with me last night... Once we got to the end of the street, I told her I was going to come back to the clan and get some sleep and she told me she had seen a log with cobwebs a few paces back and wanted to collect them... I... I didn't think this would happen!" Yellowwasp's head shot up, her eyes clouded with anguish. "I should have never left her alone! I just... I thought she'd be fine... I didn't know... I didn't..." "It's not your fault," Paintedstar blinked at the Warrior sympathetically. "Humans don't pay attention... Perhaps Islandfawn stumbled into the road? At night the dew on the grass can be terribly slick. Or she could have been padding along the roadside and a car could have struck her on purpose. Yellowwasp, don't blame yourself." "How can I not? How... Oh..." the she-cat turned on her paws and fled, sobbing as she raced back toward the Warrior's Den. Joystar moved to go comfort her but Paintedstar shook his head. "Let her grieve." "What will we do about a Medicine Cat now?" the shaky question came from the where the Elders were gathering close- preparing to take Islandfawn out of camp to bury her. "Scarletlily has been depressed and so out of it since Monarchdream left... Hazelpaw is still away with the bonds. Who will help the clan stay healthy until she returns?" "I-I can." All eyes turned to a yellow and gray Inked tom. Yarrowpaw. "I was helping Islandfawn a lot recently... studying her and Scarletlily both. I was actually going to ask you, Paintedstar..." the tom avoided the leader's gaze, knowing all too well how Paintedstar felt about him and his brothers. "If I could train to be a Medicine Cat. I don't know everything but with some guidance from Scarletlily, I think I can manage while Hazelpaw is away. Besides, the meeting to bring back the Bonded cats is next week... I think I can keep the clan going until then." The clan seemed to hold its breath as Paintedstar's pupils narrowed. His temper boiled and it showed on his face. He turned to Joystar, baring his fangs an inch from her face. "If any cat dies under his watch, know the blood is on your son's paws," he snarled as he turned and stormed off back into the Leader's Den before disappearing inside. Joystar recoiled, her eyes wide in fear. This was the first time Paintedstar had shown her open aggression since... ... "Joystar?" Falconswoop padded up to his mate and nuzzled her ear. "Joystar? Are you okay?" "I'm fine," she replied, shaking down her fur and gulping down her anxiety. "G-Go ahead and take Islandfawn's body out to bury... I'll... Uhm... arrange... something..." without another word, Joystar turned on her paws and padded from the camp, squeezing through the hole in the front door. As she disappeared, the camp exploded in conversations. Some panicked, some grief-stricken. "Did you see how she shrank away from Paintedstar?!" "Poor Islandfawn..." "A cat with no training as a Medicine Cat?! What is Inkclan coming to!" "The clan is falling apart," Turquoisegem whispered, closing her eyes as she turned her face into Tigerlash's shoulder. "Oh, what are we going to do..."
